USING YOUR ELECTRIC KETTLE
1 Plug in the kettle.
2 Fill to the level you want, then put the kettle on the base.
3 Press the START button. The START and Boil indicators light.
4 Press the SET button repeatedly to select your preferred
temperature.
5 After the water is heated to the selected temperature, press the KEEP
WARM button to keep the water at that temperature. The KEEP
WARM indicator lights. Press KEEP WARM again to cancel.
Note: The keep warm function is automatically on when you select Boil.
6 To turn o the kettle, press START.
Boil-dry protection
If you try to operate the kettle without water, the boil-dry protection
automatically turns it o. If this should occur, let your kettle cool before
lling it with cold water.

• Always unplug the power cord and let your kettle cool down
completely before cleaning.
• Never immerse your kettle, cord, or base in water, or let moisture
come in contact with these parts.
• Do not use chemicals, steel wool, or abrasive cleaners to clean the
outside of your kettle. These substances can scratch the surface or
fade the color.
Removing mineral deposits
1 Fill your kettle with three cups of white vinegar and the remainder
with water and let it stand overnight. Do not boil.
2 Empty the solution from your kettle. Remove remaining stains with a
damp cloth.
3 Boil two full kettles of water, then discard the water.
Cleaning the outside
Wipe the outside of your kettle with a damp cloth or sponge.

Notes:
• Before using your electric kettle for the rst time, clean your kettle by boiling
two full kettles of water, then discarding the water.
• Never ll the kettle with any liquid other than water.
1 Place the base on a at, heat resistant surface, as close as possible to a
power outlet.
2 Remove the kettle from the base, then open the lid by pushing the lid
button on the recessed handle on the lid.
3 Fill with the desired amount of water.
4 Close the lid. Place the kettle on the base, making sure that the kettle
contacts the base completely.

This is an automatic electronic control kettle. It can boil water to the set
temperature and keep it warm. The function buttons on the handle
include:
• START button

• KEEP WARM button

Unplug the power cord and place your kettle on the base when it is not
in use.
TROUBLESHOOTING
Do not try to repair your kettle yourself. Doing so invalidates the
warranty. If problems persist after you try the solutions below, contact
Best Buy technical support.
The kettle and indicator light do not work when the power switch is
turned on.
• Make sure that your kettle is seated properly on the base and that the
base is connected to a functioning electrical outlet.
The water is boiling, but the power switch and indicator lights are
still on.
• The auto-shut o function does not operate properly if the lid is not
completely closed. Let the kettle cool, then make sure that the lid is
properly locked into place.
The kettle will not turn on.
• Make sure that the kettle is seated properly on the base and that the
base is connected to a functioning power outlet.
• Water or debris on the bottom of your kettle or on the base may
interfere with the functioning of your kettle. Make sure that the
bottom of your kettle and the base are dry and free of debris.
There are mineral deposits inside the kettle.
• Before using your electric kettle for the rst time, clean your kettle by
boiling two full kettles of water, then discarding the water.
• A certain amount of scale build-up is normal after long periods of use
and is caused by minerals contained in hard water. The best way to
prevent mineral deposits is to always use distilled water in the kettle.
• To remove deposits, try lling your kettle with water and a few slices of
lemon, then boil. If this does not work, see “Removing mineral
deposits.”
