In summary, it is very easy to operate your wood stove, and you can prevent all potential
problems by taking the following steps:
1) Follow the installation standards scrupulously and respect the minimum clearances
from combustible material.
2) Burn only dry wood, that is, with a maximum 25% moisture content. Install a magnetic
thermometer on your pipe, 18" (457 mm) above the stove, and maintain the
temperature of your exhaust gas fumes between 250° F and 500° F.
IMPORTANT:
It is important to note that wood combustion consumes ambient oxygen. Therefore, a
constant supply of oxygen through a permanent air intake is mandatory.
Cooking:
The top of your Hunter gets very hot and is ideal for cooking. Use a pan to cook food. Do
not cook food directly on the stove top. Should you want to cook directly on the stove top, it
is suggested that you lay a piece of stainless steel that you can remove and wash once you
are done. This piece of stainless steel will prevent rusting.
