Vitamix IMMERSION Questions and Answers

#1 Can this do beets in smoothie?

You would need to cut the beets into cubes, but it definitely has the power.

#2 Does this emit chemical smell to it upon arrival especially with that black rubber at the bottom?

No we have not detected any chemical smell whatsoever. The coating at the bottom is silicone, not rubber.

#3 Does it crush ice?

Yes, but do not over do it with large pieces and they should be at the bottom of the jar.

#4 Is it a good tool to use to stir peanut butter that has separated in the jar?

I have tired this but I have to remove the peanut butter from the jar and use a larger vessel.

#5 Will this handle spinach and kale plus frozen berries and almond milk to make a smoothie? Maybe add whole ice cubes?

Mine is struggling with ice cubes and after almost a minute at level 5 there were still large chucks of ice and frozen peaches — maybe mine is atypically underpowered, but for a smoothy with kale and ice, you might be better off with a real blender vs immersion stick

#6 Is there a way to keep it on, or do I have to hold the power button the whole time?

You have to hold the power button for this blender and every other immersion blender . It is for safety reasons as well as helping eliminate messes. It is very easy to press ,so no worries.

#7 Would this work well for pesto?

I would say yes, I made a spinach, avocado dip yesterday and it came out perfect. You can adjust the speeds not what you need

#8 Can you make carrot juice with it?

Cut the carrots into small chunks. This blender is more powerful than any other blenders that I used before. It will have no problem with carrots
