Before using your kettle.
Itisrecommendedthatyoucleanyour
kettlebeforeusebyboilingafullkettleof
waterthendiscardingthewater.
Operation of your kettle
1.Tofillthekettle,removeitfromthepower
baseandliftthelid.Fillwiththedesired
amountofwater.Alternatively,thekettle
maybefilledthroughthespout.Always
fillthekettlebetweentheminimumand
maximummarks.Toolittlewaterwillresult
inthekettleswitchingoffbeforethewater
hasboiled.
NOTE:Donotfillthekettleoverthe
maximumlevel,aswatermayspilloutof
thespoutwhenboiling.Ensurethatthelid
isfirmlyinplacebeforeplacingthekettle
onthepowerbase.
2.Connectthepluginto230/240VoltAC
poweroutlet.TurnthepowerON.
3.Positionthekettleonthepowerbase.
PresstheON/OFFbuttononthetopofthe
kettle.Thepowerindicatorlightwilllight
up.Thekettlewillswitchoffautomatically
oncethewaterhasboiled.
NOTE: EnsurethattheON/OFFswitchis
clearofobstructionsandthelidisfirmly
closed.Thekettlewillnotturnoffifthe
switchisconstrainedorifthelidisleft
open.Donotremovethekettlefromthe
powerbase,whileinuse.
4.Liftthekettlefromthepowerbaseand
pourthewater.
NOTE: Usecautionwhenpouringthewater
fromyourkettle,asboilingwaterwill
scald.
5.Thekettlemaybestoredonthepower
basewhennotinuse.Thekettlewillnot
re-boiluntiltheON/OFFswitchispressed
downward.
NOTE: EnsurethepoweristurnedOFFat
thepoweroutletwhilethekettleisnotin
use.
Shouldyouaccidentallyallowthekettle
tooperatewithoutwater,theboil-dry
protectionwillautomaticallyswitchitoff.
Ifthisshouldoccur,allowthekettleto
coolbeforefillingwithcoldwaterandre-
boiling.

whichensuresthatyourkettlewill:
1. Automatically switch off after boiling.
Forconvenience,safetyandenergy
efficiency,yourSunbeamkettlefeaturesan
autocut-outdevice.
2. Cut-out for boil-dry protection.
Ifthekettleisoperatedwithoutwater,it
willautomaticallycut-out,preventingany
damagetotheelement.
3. Shut-down in case of overheating.
Intheeventofoverheating,thekettlewill
automaticallyshutdowntopreventfurther
damage.Shouldthisoccur,takeyourkettle
toaSunbeamServiceCentreorAppointed
ServiceAgent.

Alwaysdisconnectthekettlefromthepower
outletbeforecleaning.
Neverimmersethekettleswitcharea,cord
orpowerbaseinwater,orallowmoistureto
comeintocontactwiththeseparts.
Descale Your Kettle Regularly.
Mineraldepositsintapwatersolidifywhen
thewaterisheated;limescalemaybewhite,
coloured,evenrusty-lookingandisnormally
visiblebutphosphatescaleisn’tgenerally
visiblealthoughmaycausethewaterto
appearcloudywhenheated.Thismaycause
theinteriorofthewatergaugetodiscolour,
reducetheeffectivenessoftheQuietBoil
technology,causeoverheating,triggerthe
boil-drycut-outmechanismorevenreduce
thekettle’slife.
Eveninsoftwaterareasitisimportant
todescaleyourkettleregularlytohelp
maintainsitslifecycle.
Note:Failuretodescaleproductsregularly
canbedeemedasnegligenthandlingand
anyfaultscausedbymineralbuildupwill
notbecoveredbytheSunbeam12Month

stainsremaininginsidethespoutcanbe
removedbyrubbingwithadampcloth.Fill
thekettlewithcleanwater,bringtoboil
andthendiscardthewater.Repeatandthe
kettlewillthenbereadytouse.
Theoutsideofthekettlecanbewipedover
withadampcloth.
CAUTION: Do not use chemical, steel wool, or
abrasive cleaners to clean the outside of the
kettle.
