Sunbeam MX9500 Questions and Answers

#1 Our Sunbeam Cafe Series Planetary Mixmaster Power drive MX9500 (Stainless) was purchased from Robert Fergusson Launceston TAS on 25/1/20. It has had careful home use only. When my wife turned it on yesterday (18/4/21) to beat eggs, the gearbox unexpectantly was very noisy so she turned it off. What could be the problem?

Exactly what happened to mine twice. Got the full price back after the second time. Did not want a replacement. Very happy with my kitchen aid. Bit more expensive but worth every cent.

#2 Why do I have to hold down the head of mixer to keep it going. Had a Kenwood for more than 30 years with No such trouble. Maybe doing something wrong with the dial. Can not see anything relevant in instruction manual.

It sounds like the head is not locking in properly if you manually have to hold it down to operate. Please make sure there is nothing stuck between the head and the chassis that is prohibiting it to lock
