We recommend doing a hard reset of the electronics, this can be done by unplugging the microwave for 30 seconds and then plugging it back in. If this doesn't correct the problem, then we would recommend potentially getting it diagnosed by an approved GE Appliances technician.

To melt butter, choose Power Level 1. Press Time Cook button once. Enter cooking time. Press Power Level once and then press the number pad to select power level (1). Press Start. For reference, see page 9 of the owner's manual

Fault codes are programmed in all microwave oven controls. These codes help GE Factory Service technicians quickly diagnose issues with the microwave oven. In the event that the electronic control displays a fault code, a trained Service Technician should be called to diagnose and correct the issue. An F3 indicates there is a shorted touch pad panel. I recommend resetting the electronics by unplugging the unit or flipping the breaker off to the unit for at least 5 minutes.
