Important
Read this user manual carefully before you use the
appliance and save it for future reference.
Warning
- Never immerse the motor unit in water or rinse it
under the tap (Fig. 2).
- This appliance is not intended for use by persons
(including children) with reduced physical, sensory
or mental capabilities, or lack of experience and
knowledge, unless they have been given supervision
or instruction concerning use of the appliance by a
person responsible for their safety.
- Children should be supervised to ensure that they
do not play with the appliance.
Caution
- This appliance can only be operated on a R6 AA
1.5-volt battery.
- Do not use the appliance when the cutting element
or the appliance itself is damaged or broken, as this
may cause injury.
- Use and store the appliance at a temperature
between 15°C and 35°C.
- This appliance is only intended for trimming nose
hair and ear hair. Do not use it for any other
purpose.
- Remove the R6 AA 1.5-volt battery from the
appliance if you are not going to use it for some time.
- If the appliance is subjected to a major change in
temperature, pressure or humidity, let the appliance
acclimatise for 30 minutes before you use it.
- For hygienic reasons, the appliance should only be
used by one person.
Electromagnetic elds (EMF)
This Philips appliance complies with all standards
regarding electromagnetic elds (EMF). If handled
properly and according to the instructions in this user
manual, the appliance is safe to use based on scientic
evidence available today.
Preparing for use
1 To remove the battery compartment cover, turn it
anticlockwise and pull it off the motor unit (Fig. 3).
2 Put the R6 AA 1.5-volt battery in the battery
compartment (Fig. 4).
Make sure the + and - poles of the battery point in the
right direction.
Note: Preferably use Philips alkaline batteries. A new AA
alkaline battery has an operating time of up to 2 hours.
3 Slide the battery compartment cover back onto
the motor unit. Turn the cover clockwise until it
locks into position (Fig. 5).
, When the battery compartment cover is properly
closed, the arrowhead on the motor unit points to
the line on the battery compartment cover.
To avoid damage due to battery leakage:
- do not expose the appliance to direct sunlight.
- do not expose the appliance to temperatures higher
than 35°C.
- remove the battery if you are not going to use the
appliance for a month or more.
- do not leave an empty battery in the appliance.
Using the appliance
You can use the appliance to trim nose hair and ear hair.
Before you use the trimmer for the rst time, test it
on a small area of your arm or leg. If any irritation or
allergic reaction occurs, discontinue use immediately.
Do no use the trimmer on sensitive or irritated skin.
1 Pull the protection cap off the appliance (Fig. 6).
2 Press the on/off switch to switch on the
appliance (Fig. 7).
3 Use the appliance as described in the rest of this
chapter.
4 Press the on/off switch again to switch off the
appliance (Fig. 8).
5 Put the protection cap back onto the cutting
element after use to prevent damage (Fig. 9).
Trimming nose hair
Make sure your nostrils are clean before you start
trimming.
1 Carefully insert the cutting element into one of
your nostrils.
Do not insert the cutting element more than 6mm into
your nostrils.
2 Slowly move the appliance around to remove all
unwanted hairs in your nostrils (Fig. 10).
