Jump Starting a Vehicle

WARNING: Read all instructions before proceeding. Incorrect use can cause injury or damage. Ensure the vehicle and jump starter are in a stable, well-ventilated location. Do not use on electric vehicles (EVs) or hybrid vehicle high-voltage systems.
  1. Prepare the Jump Starter: Check the LCD screen to ensure it has sufficient charge (at least 20% is recommended).
  2. Prepare the Vehicle: Turn off the vehicle's ignition and all electrical accessories (lights, radio, etc.).
  3. Connect the Clamps:
    • Connect the RED positive (+) clamp to the positive (+) terminal of the vehicle's dead battery.
    • Connect the BLACK negative (-) clamp to a clean, unpainted metal part of the vehicle's engine block or chassis, away from the battery and fuel lines. This is the grounding point.
  4. Initiate Jump Start:
    • Press the power button on the smart jump clamp cable. An indicator should light up.
    • Within 30 seconds of connection, get into the vehicle and attempt to start the engine. Crank for no more than 3 seconds at a time.
  5. If the Engine Starts:
    • Once the engine is running smoothly, press the button on the smart clamp to turn it off.
    • Carefully disconnect the clamps in the REVERSE order: Remove the BLACK (-) clamp first, then the RED (+) clamp.
  6. If the Engine Does Not Start: Do not continuously crank. Wait 30 seconds, then try again. If unsuccessful after a few attempts, the battery or vehicle may have other issues. Disconnect the clamps.
  7. After Use: Recharge the jump starter as soon as possible.
