Features

1. Radio – NOAA / AM / FM

Tune into NOAA weather alerts (7 bands, 162.400–162.550 MHz), AM (520–1710 kHz), and FM (87–108 MHz). The large analog tuning knob and tactile buttons are designed for low-light or gloved-hand operation.

Note: This radio does not include S.A.M.E. technology for automated localized alerts. Always monitor your local NOAA station for real-time updates.

2. Power Sources & Battery

The built-in 10000mAh lithium polymer battery can be recharged in three ways:

  • USB-C (fastest): 2A input; full charge in under 8 hours.
  • Hand crank: Rotate the crank to generate emergency power.
  • Solar panel: Place the radio in direct sunlight for trickle charging.

The battery also serves as a power bank – use the USB-A output port to charge smartphones or other devices.

3. Lighting – Flashlight & Reading Lamp

Two independent light sources:

  • 20-LED flashlight: Provides a focused beam for outdoor tasks and trail walking. Three modes: Far Beam, Dipped Beam, and Mixed Beam.
  • 48-LED reading lamp: Floods a room or tent (up to 20 m²) with warm, hands-free light for cooking, reading, or navigating.

4. SOS Alarm & Compass

The SOS alarm emits a loud signal (audible up to several hundred yards) to attract attention. The built-in compass helps with orientation when GPS or cellular service is unavailable.

5. Build & Durability

  • IPX6 water-resistant: Withstands heavy rain and splashes from any angle.
  • Non-slip textured grip for secure handling.
  • Compact dimensions: 6.2" L × 2.5" W × 3.9" H (approx. 6.3" × 3.5" × 3.1" including protrusions).

Use Guide

Charging the Radio

  1. USB-C charging (recommended for daily use): Connect the provided USB-C cable to the radio’s USB-C port and a 5V/2A adapter. Full charge takes under 8 hours.
  2. Hand crank charging: Fold out the crank handle and rotate at a steady pace (approx. 2–3 rotations per second). Crank for 3–5 minutes to obtain several minutes of radio or flashlight use.
  3. Solar charging: Place the radio with the solar panel facing direct sunlight. Charging speed depends on light intensity; this method is best as a backup or for maintaining charge.
Note: The radio can also be powered by 3 AAA batteries (not included) as an additional backup.

Using the Radio

  1. Turn the Power/Volume dial clockwise to switch on the radio.
  2. Use the Analog Tuning Knob to select your desired band (AM, FM, or NOAA).
  3. Adjust the volume using the same dial.
  4. For best reception, extend the telescopic antenna fully.

Using the Flashlight & Reading Lamp

  • Press the Flashlight Button repeatedly to cycle through modes: Far Beam → Dipped Beam → Mixed Beam → Off.
  • Press the Reading Lamp Button to toggle the 48-LED lamp on/off.

Activating the SOS Alarm

  1. Press and hold the SOS Button for 2 seconds. The alarm will sound and the flashlight will strobe.
  2. Press the button again to deactivate.

Using the Power Bank

  1. Connect your smartphone or other device to the radio’s USB-A port using a compatible cable.
  2. The radio will automatically begin charging the connected device (output: 5V).
  3. Monitor the battery level indicator on the radio to avoid depleting the battery completely.

Using the Compass

The compass is located on the top or side of the unit. Hold the radio level and rotate until the needle aligns with north. Use this for basic orientation when GPS is unavailable.
