1) The marked electrical rating of the detachable power-supply
cord or extension cord should be at least as great as the
electrical rating of the appliance,
2) If the appliance is of the grounded type, the extension cord
should be a grounding-type 3-wire cord, and
3) The longer cord should be arranged so that it will not drape
over the countertop or tabletop where it can be pulled on
by children or tripped over.

• Opencoverandinsertacleanpaperlterintoremovablelter
basket.
• Pourfreshcoldwaterupto8-cupmarkintowaterreservoir.For
yourconvenience,thewatertankisdetachableforeasyll.Plug
cord into standard electrical outlet.
• BrewwaterthroughappliancefollowingBREWINGCOFFEE
instructions without coffee grounds.
•Discardwaterfromcarafeandtheusedpaperlter.
•Coffeemakerisreadyforuse.
BREWING COFFEE
1. Fillwaterreservoirwithcoldtapwaterusingwatermarkingson
reservoirasaguide.Donotexceedmaximumlevel.
2. Placepaperlterintolterbasket.Addgroundcoffee(asper
instructions on the coffee or we suggest 1 heaping tablespoon
percup).Placelterbasketinplace.
3. Closecover.
4. Placeemptycarafeon“KeepHot”carafebase.
Important: Coffee may overow if brew-thru lid is not properly
aligned.
5. Presspowerbutton;indicatorlightilluminatesandbrewing
begins.
6. Whencoffeegroundsarecool,carefullyremoveanddiscardused
groundsandpaperlter.Coffeemakerwillkeepbrewedcoffee
hot for 2 hours and then automatically turn off.
7. To turn off coffeemaker at any time press power button.
SNEAK-A-CUP® FEATURE
Removethecarafeandbrewingispaused.Thecarafemustbe
placedbackonthe“KeepHot”carafewithin30secondstoprevent
overow.Brewingbeginsagain.

CLEANING
1. Make sure your coffeemaker is unplugged and cool.
2. Removelterbasket.Discardusedpaperlterandcoffee
grounds.
3. Washlterbasketandcarafeindishwasher(top-rack)orbyhand
in hot, soapy water.
4. Wipeoutsideofcoffeemaker,controlpaneland“KeepHot”
carafe base with a soft, damp cloth.
Note:Donotuseabrasivecleansersorscouringpads.Never
immerse the coffeemaker in water.
5. To clean the inside of the cover, open the cover and leave in the
openposition;wipewithadampcloth.
CLEANING WITH VINEGAR
Mineral deposits left by hard water can clog your coffeemaker.
Cleaningisrecommendedonceamonth.
1. Pourwhitevinegarintowaterreservoirupto6-cuplineonthe
waterlevelwindow.Addwaterupto8-cupline.
Caution:BecarefulnottoexceedtheMAXlevel,toavoidwater
runningouttheoverowholeinthebackofthecoffeemaker.
2. Putapaperlterinthelterbasketandclosethecover.Set
emptycarafeonthe“KeepHot”carafebase.
3. Turn on coffeemaker and let half the water and vinegar mix brew
intocarafe(untilwaterlevelgoesdowntoapproximatelythe
5-cup line on the water level window). Turn coffeemaker off and
let it stand for at least 15 minutes to soften the deposits.
4. Turnoncoffeemakerandbrewremainingwaterandvinegarmix
into carafe.
5. Turnoffcoffeemaker,emptycarafeanddiscardlter.
6. Fillreservoirwithfreshwaterto8-cupline,replaceemptycarafe
onthe“KeepHot”carafebaseandthenturnoncoffeemakerfor
acompletebrewcycletoushoutremainingwaterandvinegar
mix.Repeatthisstepagaintoeliminateanyremainingvinegar
smell/taste.
7. Washthelterbasketandcarafeasinstructedfornormal
cleaning.
