GE - General Electric PK7000SF6SS Questions and Answers

#1 This wall oven was purchased as a discontinued model at a substantial savings. My question is - the manual refers to a top and bottom heating element. The top one is visible, but the bottom is not. Is it enclosed and not visible?

This oven does come with a hidden bake element. This design places the bake element under the floor of the oven were it is concealed under a non-removable porcelain enameled oven floor. This eliminates hard-to-reach areas that collect food and spills and makes the oven easier to clean.

We hope this helps.

#2 I just bought this oven and used it for the first time over the weekend. There is a constant clicking while I'm preheating, about once every 15-20 seconds, and about once every minute to 1.5 minutes once the oven has hit the baking temp. Is this normal?

It is normal to hear the temperature control click on and off during preheating, baking, broiling and self-cleaning cycles. What you are hearing are the control relays cycling the bake and broil elements on and off to accurately maintain oven temperature. Due to the precise control our ovens have, you may hear more relay noise than in older ovens.

Also, cracking and popping sounds caused by the heating and cooling of metal during the cooking or cleaning functions are considered normal. It is simply the expansion and contraction of the metal.

Thank you for checking with us.

#3 Does this have a convection conversion feature so I do not have to try to convert recipes myself. Also, is it noisy?

We are excited to hear of your interest! Yes, the oven features Auto Recipe Conversion. Also, you may hear a low hum sound from the fan as it turns on automatically to cool the electronic components. Thanks for checking with us!
