Braun 5030S Questions and Answers

#1 Does this razor come with a travel lock to prevent it from turning on when traveling?

It definitely does. A long press of the power button to lock
and the same to unlock. When you lock it there is a
confirmation beep but when you unlock it doesn't beep, it
instead starts the shaver, so 4 seconds and it's not just
unlocked but running. The button also has a slight ridge
around it to provide a very small amount of additional
protection. These still wouldn't provide 100% protection by
themselves in checked luggage though. I can totally see how
it could still be activated in some circumstances.

#2 Will it break when dropped?

Obviously yes. The head is the most sensitive part, made up
of a thin foil.
If the foil is bent or broken then that part must be replaced
immediatly.
The body of the shaver is much tougher and is far less likely
to break if
dropped. Dropping is not recommended.

#3 Does it come with some kind of stand so I can stand upright?

The one I bought did not come with a stand. That was not
something I
wanted or even considered. The shaver sits very nicely and
steady, face
down on a shelf for me.

#4 Is this wet & dry ? can you clean the net and head with hot water?

It's officially a dry shaver. The 5040s is the only series 5
shaver that is
officially wet/dry. Strangely enough, the Braun website says
you can fully
submerge the entire unit in warm water to wash it. Just don't
have it
plugged in when you do this....

#5 Can this be used in other countries that uses different voltage? (220-240V)

Yes it can work in other countries with 120-240 volts AC. You
might need
an outlet adaptor if the other country uses a different plug
arrangement
then the USA.

#6 Does the razor have a travel lock?

Sort of. When turning OFF the razor, if you hold the power
button down
for 3 seconds or more, the razor can be turned back ON only
by AGAIN
holding the power button for 3 seconds or more.
