Bosch SHX863WB5N Questions and Answers

#1 Why does this dishwasher BARELY dry the dishes?

Drying results can be affected by many factors including water hardness, the amount of plastic items in the load, the amount of edges, depressions, or lips on the dishware, use or non-use of suggested rinse aid, pre-rinsing of dishes, cycle selection, loading, etc. Following are suggestions for improving drying in dishwashers. 1.For all dishwashers, to achieve best drying results, always use a liquid rinse aid, even if your detergent contains a rinse aid or drying additive. Use of rinse aid causes sheeting action on dishware and top & sides of tub. 2. For best dishwashing results, observe the following when loading the dishwasher: ■ Do not pre-wash items with loosely attached food soil. Simply scrap off larger food items into trash and place soiled dishware into racks. See Use & Care Guide for loading suggestions. 3. With any dishwasher, when unloading the dishwasher, to prevent water from dripping onto dry dishes, unload the lower rack first. 4. Consider using Sanitize * option - Increases the temperatures and retains them for an extra long time to obtain a defined disinfecting performance. Continuous use of this function increases the hygiene status.

#2 Does the third rack look the same on the 300 and 500 series?

The 3rd rack on the 300 Series Dishwasher is our Standard 3rd Rack, which is v-shaped which leaves room below for taller items. The 500 Series has our Flexible 3rd Rack which has expandable wings which easily lower to accomodate more of your deeper items, while 2 adjustable tines let you customize the rack's loading space to fit awkward or bulky items.

#3 We had an older model Bosch dishwasher that had a very annoying beeping sound at the end of the wash that continued until someone turned it off. Needless to say, this was very annoying. Does this model have this beep that won't turn off by itself?

To change the signal volume: 1. Open the door. 2. Press the On/Off button. 3. Hold down function key and press Start button until the display indicates d:0x (x can be any number). Release both buttons. 4. Press function key until the display shows 6:02. 5. Press function key. Each time the button is pressed the set value increases by one level; when it reaches the value 6:03 the display jumps back to 6:00 (off). 6. Press Start button to save the setting.
