#1 I bought model # JB65odF1bb in Nov.2014. It takes way to long to pre heat oven. I put a oven temperature gauge to test. The oven beeps that it is preheated and it has not even come close. It take a good 30 minutes to get to 350. Has it already worn out ?

Hi sharonp18- GE® 30" Free-Standing Electric Range JB650DFBB with a hidden bake element and Fast Preheat feature can take 7-10 minutes to preheat.

Factors that will affect the preheat time are:

Selected temperature (every 25 degree increment above 350 set temperature will add approximately 45-60 seconds to preheat time)
Starting temperature of the oven
Room temperature
Number of racks in the oven (each additional rack will add approximately 30 seconds to preheat time)
208 volt installation will increase pre-heat time by 25%

If the oven is taking much longer than normal to preheat, turn off the circuit breaker for the range, wait 30 seconds, and turn it back on. This makes sure that it is not getting half power. If not newly installed, an electrician can check the power connections and power supply to the range.

Many newer ranges have a Preheat that will signal when the oven has reached a temperature hot enough to add food, rather than when the set temperature is reached. Typically the range will signal after about 7-12 minutes, depending of the temperature you set. We test our ranges with prepackaged foods, frozen pizzas, baked goods, etc. We put the items in at the beep, and get good results. This can help save time in the kitchen, since you are not waiting longer for the preheat than necessary, in most cases.

Recipes can differ, as can a food's preheat requirements. Most foods we tested don't require additional oven heating, though there are always exceptions. If you're finding a recipe isn't cooking properly, then you may want to turn on the oven a little bit before you start your food preparation to give it a little more time. You can also remove unused racks when using the oven for faster preheat, improved efficiency, and optimal performance.

#2 How do you use the "Power Boil surface feature? What temperature do you select? How does this feature differ from the other burners? Need some guidance... I was surprised that the owner's manual didn't address this feature. Thanks for your assistance

The PowerBoil setting provides up to 3,000 watts of power to speed the boiling process. It does not show as a separate setting, but is normally part of the dual element - hi setting

The 6"/9" PowerBoil element is 20% more powerful than the standard 6"/9" element and the PowerBoil packs the same wattage as the 12-inch elements into an element that is 33% smaller. By concentrating the heat, our time to boil has been reduced by approximately 14%.
I hope this helps. Thanks for checking

#3 How to set clock ?

Press and hold the +/- pads for 3 seconds. Try using both thumbs because you have to put equal amounts of pressure for it to work. Then press the +/- pad to program the clock. Press Start to save the time.
