GE - General Electric GTWN5550D1WW Questions and Answers

#1 I need to know if when you tip the washer forward if the back legs adjust themself or do you adjust them

The front legs on this washer are adjustable up or down an inch, but the rear legs are self-leveling.

We appreciate you checking with us, and we hope this information helps!

#2 Is there a lint trap or filter that can be cleaned out on this model? Clothes are coming out with lint on them. I read previous comment about washing clothes separately. That is not a factor. Only way to get it off is to do two more rinse cycles.

There is no lint trap or filter on this washer. We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause. Washing (agitation) beyond what's necessary to clean clothes will generate lint. We recommend you shorten wash time (use medium or light soil wash) for smaller loads or lightly soiled garments to avoid washing clothes longer than needed.

Setting the water level switch to a higher setting than needed will cause linting due to excessive movement of the clothes in the water. If this is the cause we recommend that you select a water level proper for the load. Also too much bleach or fabric softener will cause excessive lint. Use fabric softener only in rinse cycle, unless softener manufacturer specifies adding to wash cycle.

#3 Why can't I set my spin cycle when I have "fabric softener" selected....it always goes to "extra spin" which make the clothes wrinkle???!!!!
I want to be able to select my own spin cycle...this "extra spin" is wastless and wrinkles the clothes.....plus it's so fast that even though the washer is balanced perfectly, it makes themachine jiggle alot!!!!!
HOW DO I SET SPIN SYCLE WHILE FABRIC SOFTENER IS ALSO SELECTED?????

In order for the fabric softener to dispense properly, the washer must be able to go into the high spin speed as this is what extracts the liquid softener out of the softener dispenser. This is a default setting.
