#1 Are there any holes on the back of the hot plate surface for rubbish and liquid during cooking like some Chef upright model? A metal tray is under the holes and can be unscrewed and taken out to clear the waste and clean. I cannot see it on photos.

No this is a sealed white enamel cooktop with sealed cooking elements

#2 Is the EW60 a plug-in stove or does it have to be hard-wired?

This item required hardwiring.
