GE - General Electric GTS21FGKBBB Questions and Answers

#1 Why does it make a popping noise? What can I do to stop it?

A cracking or popping sound can be heard when the
evaporator coils on a Top Freezer, No Frost refrigerator model
like this one are cooling after a defrost cycle.

#2 LED light located at Freezer or not?

This model does not have a light in the freezer section. There is
LED lighting in the fresh food section only.

#3 I just purchased this refrigerator and plugged it in. Is the
foam supposed to stay inside the vent inside the
refrigerator? It seems like it might be blocking the airflow.
The freezer is cold but the refrigerator isn't cold yet.

We truly appreciate your choice to do business with us, and
are happy to advise. Many top-mount refrigerators have a
section of styrofoam above the freezer control dial. This is
not packing material and should not be removed.
Styrofoam may also be located around the vent and in the
roof of the refrigerator and should not be removed. If you
have removed this, you will need service to have it replaced.
