Sabbatical mode
Sabbatical mode settings:
the “super” function is ended
(if activated);
the accoustic signal is switched
off when the button is actuated
(if activated);
the interior illumination is switched
off;
the background illumination of
the fascia is switched off.
To switch the sabbatical mode on:
z Press and hold down the “super”
cooling button .
z Press Holiday button .
z Keep the “super” cooling
button held down for
3 seconds longer.
The symbol flashes
on the display panel.
The background illumination in the
fascia is switched off.
SABBATH is
displayed in the fascia.
The sabbatical mode is switched
on.
To switch the sabbatical mode off:
z Press Holiday button .
The previous settings and
temperature values are once
again activated.
Storing food in
the refrigerator
compartment
Pay attention when
arranging food:
Allow warm food and drinks to cool
down outside the appliance.
Wrap or cover food before placing
in the appliance. This way the
aroma and freshness is preserved.
This is done likewise to help avoid
the transfer of odours and colours
onto plastic parts.
Keep plastic parts and the door
seal free of oil and grease.
Bottles which contain a high
percentage of alcohol must be
sealed and stored in an upright
position.
When buying food, please
note:
The “purchase freshness” is important
for the shelf-life of your food. The follow-
ing principle applies: the fresher the
supplies are when placed in the chiller
section drawer, the longer they can
be held for. When buying food, always
note the degree of freshness.
Freezing and storing
food
Purchasing deep-frozen
food
When purchasing deep-frozen food,
comply with the following:
Check that the packaging is not
damaged.
Check the sell-by date.
The temperature of the super-
market freezer should be lower
than 18 ° C. If not, the storage life
of the food is reduced.
Purchase deep-frozen food last.
Wrap in newspaper or place in
a cold bag and take home.
At home immediately place deep-
frozen food in the freezer compart-
ment. Use the deep-frozen food
before the sell-by date runs out.
Do not refreeze thawed food.
Exception: If you use the food to
make a ready meal (boiling or frying),
you can refreeze this ready meal.

fication plate.
Freezing deep-frozen food
Freeze fresh, undamaged food only.
To prevent food from losing its flavour or
drying out, wrap the food in airtight film
or place in containers. In order to retain
the vitamins, nutritional value, appear-
ance and flavour food should be frozen
as quickly as possible. Do not exceed
the max. freezing capacity.
How to wrap food
correctly:
z Place the food in the wrapping.
z Press out all the air.
z Seal the wrapping.
z Label the wrapping with the
contents and date.
The following products are not
suitable for wrapping food:
Wrapping paper, greaseproof paper,
cellophane, refuse bags and used
shopping bags.
The following products are suitable
for wrapping food:
Plastic film, polyethylene blown film,
aluminium foil and freezer tins.
These products can be purchased
from a specialist outlet.
The following products are suitable
for sealing the wrapped food:
rubber bands, plastic clips, string,
coldresistant adhesive tape etc.
Bags and polyethylene blown film
can be sealed with a film sealer.
