#1 Hi, Everything is working but it does not heat up food at all. Thanks for your help.

If the microwave runs, but does not heat it could be one of many components. Make sure the “Timer” function was not inadvertently used. Check to insure door closed firmly. Do not slam. This confirms the engagement of the door's safety mechanisms.

For safety reasons, GE offers no do-it-yourself repair advice on microwave ovens due to an internal high voltage capacitor (can hold a high voltage charge even after it has been unplugged). Special equipment is generally needed to make a diagnosis.

#2 I have a GE JVM 1490 BD003 Spacemaker oven RF 900172 K and the wording is in Spanish. How do I get English?

This microwave offers the Display Language feature. The language for the scrolling display can be set to either English or Spanish.

1. Press the OPTIONS button and turn the dial to select DISPLAY LANGUAGE. Press the dial to enter.

2. Turn the dial to select ENGLISH or SPANISH. Press the dial to enter.

This information is provided in the Use and Care manual on page 23.

#3 Is there a way to set the timer so that it automatically goes off rather beeping until the timer button is pushed again?

The TIMER signal can not be programmed to turn off automatically. When the time is up, the oven will signal. To turn off the time signal, press TIMER. To cancel the timer, press and hold the TIMER pad for 2 seconds.
