GE - General Electric JGB750DEF2BB Questions and Answers

#1 When I bake I set the temp & time as required, but I need to add more time since they are not done. Also there is a constant smell that lingers after i use the oven installer said it would dissipate after the first few uses.

To determine if your range is baking at the correct temperature, please try the "Oven Temperature Bake Test" in the link below:

http://products.geappliances.com/appliance/gea-support-search-content?contentId=16653

If the oven temperature needs to be adjusted, see page 16 of the Owner's Manual at the following link:

http://products.geappliances.com/MarketingObjectRetrieval/Dispatcher?RequestType=PDF&Name=49-85211-5.pdf

The smell you described is normal on new ranges and should dissipate with use.

Thank you for checking with us.

#2 I am cooking at 375 and want to change the temperature to 425. So I press Bake, 425, and enter. The display will show the temperature currently at 355 and then it raises to the 425. Not really having any issues baking, but I wonder why it is doing this

When you change the temperature, it will first show what the actual temperature (will vary), and then the set temperature. This is normal operation. Don't be alarmed that the actual temperature is not exactly 375 (for example). All ovens will fluctuate higher or lower in temperature as it is cooking.

Thanks for checking with us!

#3 What's the oven's (cooking) temperature range, more specifically the lowest and highest setting?

The oven temperature range is 170-550 degrees F.

Thanks for checking with us!
