Frigidaire FPHG2399MF Questions and Answers

#1 How does my Auto CrispSeal™ Drawer work?

If you have a refrigerator model with the Auto CrispSealTM Drawer, they are equipped with an auto humidity control on the side of each crisper under the humidity control cover. Good news – no settings needed!

Auto CrispSealTM Drawers may be equipped with an automatic humidity control membrane. We do not recommend replacing the auto-humidity membrane unless it becomes damaged or dirty. If the membrane requires cleaning, it can simply be washed with soap and water. Make sure you thoroughly dry the membrane before replacing in your refrigerator.

#3 Can I adjust the shelves in my Multi-Door refrigerator to fit my spacing needs?

Most Multi-Door refrigerators are equipped with shelves that are supported at the back of the refrigerator.

To adjust your shelves, remove all items from shelf / shelves.

Lift the front edge up, pull the shelf out and replace the shelf by inserting the hooks at the rear of the shelf into the wall bracket.

Lower the shelf into the desired slot and lock into position Some models have glass shelves that slide out for easy access. The shelves slide out independently of their mounting brackets, just pull the front of the shelf forward. Shelves can be extended as far as the stopper will allow but are not removable from their mounting brackets.

Our door bins (vary by model) are removable for easy cleaning but some of them have fixed positions while others can be adjusted.

To change the position of an adjustable door bin simply remove all items from the bin, grip the bin firmly with both hands and lift it upward or side-to-side (depending on bin type). Next, remove the bin and place the bin just above the desired position.

Finally, lower the bin onto supports until it's locked in place and place bin liner into bin (if removed).

#4 How do I use the features and functions on my French-Door refrigerator display?

Depending on your model, there are various features and functions available on your French-Door. It is always recommended to check out your Owner’s Manual for more descriptions of these features.

Press OPTIONS to illuminate the center of your display – this will show you the available features and functions.

Use the UP or DOWN key to scroll through the menu that appears in the center of your display.

To change a setting to ON or OFF, press the +; then press SET to select. When selection is made, go back and press OPTIONS to save.

#5 Why does my refrigerator run most of the time? Is this normal?

Depending on the type of compressor your refrigerator has could impact how frequently it runs. It is normal for the compressor to go on and off frequently.

The thermostat keeps the refrigerator at a constant temperature. Single speed compressors (most Top-Freezer and Side-by-Side refrigerator models)

It is normal for the refrigerator to work longer when the room or outside weather is too warm or hot.If the refrigerator doors are opened too frequently or too long allows warm air to enter the product and therefore causes it to run more often.

Freezer temperature may be set too cold. It is recommended to set the refrigerator section to a warmer setting – this will adjust the freezer temperature.

Allow 24 hours for the temperature to stabilize.

Check the door seal/gasket. Air leaks in the door seal/gasket will cause the refrigerator to run longer in order to maintain desired temperatures.

Condenser may be dirty. See the Care and Cleaning section of your Owner’s Manual.

Variable speed compressor (most French-Door and Multi-Door refrigerator models). Your variable speed compressor is designed to run 100% of the time except during the defrost cycle. At times it may even run faster, such as after a defrost cycle.

#6 How do I use the features and functions on my Multi-Door refrigerator display?

Depending on your model, there are various features and functions available on your Multi-Door refrigerator. It is always recommended to check out your Owner’s Manual for more descriptions of these features and when best to use.

Press selection directly on the display for a few seconds until you hear an audible tone. If deactivating a selection, the LED light will no longer illuminate.
