GE - General Electric AEW14AXL1 Questions and Answers

#1 Q: If I set the thermostat at say 75 degrees, but the power goes out for an hour or so, will the unit return to original programming of 75 degrees, or will I have to turn back on and reset the thermostat. I want for garage, but not have to verify daily.

A: Hi BSup - In the case of a power outage or interruption, the unit will automatically restart in the settings last used after the power is restored. For reference, view page 6 of the Owner's Manual at the following link: https://products.geappliances.com/MarketingObjectRetrieval/Dispatcher?RequestType=PDF&Name=49-7789.PDF

#2 Q: My aew14av won't stay on for longer than a minute. What am I doing wrong.?

A: Hello Drew728. This is Richard at GEA. We are glad to help. We recommend shutting off the circuit breaker or fuse to the air conditioner or unplugging it for a minute or two in an effort to reset the unit. After a minute or two, restore power and see if the air conditioner resets and operates correctly. If not, service may be needed.

If needed, I recommend scheduling a service appointment with an authorized GE Appliance technician who can accurately diagnose and repair your appliance. You can schedule an appointment online at: http://www.geappliances.com/ge/service-and-support/service.htm
Or if you prefer to call, you can reach our scheduling department at 1-800-432-2737, Mon-Fri 7 am – 10 pm ET, Sat-Sun 8 am – 6 pm ET.
Thanks much
