GE - General Electric JVM1851SH06 Questions and Answers

#1 what need to do when showing F3 code?

The F3 error code indicates a shorted touch pad. We would recommend disconnecting power by flipping your circuit breaker for up to 3 minutes.

If you find that this doesn’t solve the problem, we would recommend scheduling service so a GE certified tech can diagnose the issue. You can reach them at 1-800-GE-CARES, or you can schedule online: https://www.geappliances.com/ge/service-and-support/service.htm?ICID=GEARsupportflyout-service

#2 My microwave is not heating up and making louder noise with a smell but all the lights, vent, etc... are still working. Didn't find any troubleshoooting info about this. Any idea what this could be?

If your microwave is not working properly, we normally recommend to reset the electronics by unplugging the microwave or turning off the house circuit breaker to the outlet for at least 10 minutes. However, if it is also having an unusual smell, then we recommend to leave power disconnected until it can be serviced or replaced.

For safety reasons, GE offers no do-it-yourself repair advice on microwave ovens due to:

*Safety requirements due to high voltage (capacitor holds a high voltage charge even after it has been unplugged).
*Complexity of electronic circuitry.
*Special equipment needed to make diagnosis.

GE urges our consumers not to attempt any microwave repairs.

I recommend contacting GE Factory Service at 1-800-432-2737 to schedule an appointment or if you prefer, you may schedule online by visiting the website below:

I hope this helps!
