Preparing To Use Your Toaster fortheFirstTime

If you are using your toaster for the first time, please be sure to:

•Removeanystickersfromthesurfaceofthetoasterandwipetheoutside

of your toaster with a dampcloth.

•InserttheRemovableCrumbTrayintothecrumbtrayslot.

•MakecertainthattheBreadCarriageLeverisintheuppermostposition

before plugging in the toaster’s power cord.

•Selectalocationforthetoaster.Thelocationshouldbe:

 •Aflat,heat-resistant,non-flammablesurface.

 •Atleastthreeinchesawayfromwallsorthebackofcountertops.

 •Atleastonefootawayfromanycabinetorshelvingthatmaybeabove

the toaster.

 •Awayfromflammablematerials,suchascurtainsandwallfabric.

 •Awayfromagasstoveflameorelectricelement.

•PlugthePowerCordinto120Volt,60HzACoutlet.

•Plugintoasterwithoutinsertinganyfoodintothebreadslots,pushthe

BreadLeverallthewaydownuntilitlocks.(Thecarriagewillnotlockif

the toaster isnot plugged into a power source.) The first toasting process

will preheat the new elements and burn off any dust which may have

accumulated during storage or manufacturing. It is normal for this burn off

to create an odor.

Adjusting the Power Cord length

Yourtoaster’sRetractableCordStorageareaallowsyoutoadjustthelength

ofthePowerCordsothatitistheexactlengthyoudesirewhencontrolsare

off and unit is unplugged and cool.

•Whenretractingthecord,holdtheplugwithonehandandpushthebutton

to retract cord.

•Thecordreeliscompactformulti-layerretractingofthecord.Incasecord

is not fully rewound, pull out the cord and steer cord evenly on the reel.

•Incasethecordisnotpulledouteasily,pullcordfirmly.

•Donotallowchildrentouseretractablecordfeatureasthecordmay

cause injury.

Using Your Toaster

Inserting the food into the bread slots and toasting:

•Mosttypesofbreadsandpastriescanbetoasted,suchasbagels,tea

cakes, thickly sliced breads, Englishmuffins, etc. Slices should not,

however, be so thick as to jam thebread slots.

•Whentoastingtwoslicesatatime,theslicesshouldbeofequalsizeand

freshness toensure eventoasting.

•Whentoastingtwoslicesofbread,placeonesliceinthecenterofeach

bread slot.

•Whentoastingonesliceofbread,placethesliceinthecenterofeither

bread slot.

After you insert the food into the bread slots:

•PresstheBreadCarriageLeverdownuntilitlocks.

The Auto-Adjusting Bread Guides will automatically center the food for even

browning.

•Afterpressingthebreadcarriageleverdown,presstoast,bagelorpastry

buttontoselectyourfoodtype(selectmodelsincludebagelandpastry).The

light will illuminate to indicate your selection.

Note: Toast is the default setting if no food or function select buttons are chosen.

•Yourtoastercandefrostyourfrozenfoodandthentoastitbyusingthe

frozenfeature(selectmodelsonly).

•PresstheFrozenbuttonifthefoodisfrozen.

•SelectthedesireddarknesssettingbyturningtheLighter/Darkerknob.

•Selectingthedarknesssettingwillsetthetimerandautomaticallydisplay

the remaining toast time once the carriage lever is pushed down into place.

The number of minutes remaining will flash until one minute is left in the

toast cycle. At this time, the display will change to two digits and countdown

thenumberofsecondsremaining.Forexample:

3 – 3:59 remaining “4” will flash

2 – 2:59 remaining “3” will flash

1 – 1:59 remaining “2” will flash

< 1 minute remaining 60 – 0 seconds countdown

•Afterthedesiredlevelofdarknesshasbeenreached,thefoodwillpopup

automatically.TheBreadCarriageLeverwillreturntoitsoriginalpositionand

the indicator lights will turn off.

•Carefullyremovethetoastedfoodfromthebreadslots.Pressuponthe

bread carriage lever to lift food out of the bread slots. It is a convenient and

safe way of retrieving the smallest of toasted items.

WARNING: Toasted food can be very hot. Handle with care.

GENERAL INFORMATION

Tip: Yourtoasterhasbeendesignedforoptimumtoastbalance.Some

elements ontheinsideof the toaster may glow more brightly than others

when inuse. Thisispart of normal toaster operation.

Using the Cancel Function

Press the Cancel button. Thetoaster will stop toasting immediately andthe

food willpopup automatically.

To remove food jammed in the bread slots: unplug the toaster and

remove thefood once thetoaster has cooled down.

Do not place food on top of toaster while it is warming.

WARNING: Empty the Crumb Tray frequently.

Crumbswillaccumulate in the Crumb Tray and couldcatch fire

if not emptied periodically.

To reheat your food:

•PresstheBreadCarriageLever.

•PresstheWarmbutton.Ifdesired,pressfoodselect.Ifnofoodisselected

the Toaster will operate in Toast mode. The Toaster will reheat your food.

Cleaning Your Toaster

After use and before cleaning, press Cancel button, unplug the toaster Power

Cord from the power outlet andwait for the toaster tocool. Do not immerse

appliance.

•Wipetheoutsideofthetoasterwithadampclothandthendryitwith

anotherclothorpapertowel.Donotuseabrasivecleaners;theywilldamage

the toaster’s finish.

•Lightlytapthesidesofthetoastertodislodgeanycrumbscaughtin

the toast chamber. Remove the Crumb Tray and empty it. Wipe the tray

clean with adamp cloth or place it in the top rack of your dishwasher for

cleaning. Becertain to put theCrumbTray back into thetoaster before using

thetoaster again.

•Wipethesurfaceonthetopofthebreadslotswithadampcloth

anddryitwithanother cloth or paper towel.

One Year Limited Warranty

Sunbeam Products, Inc. doing business as Jarden Consumer Solutions or if in Canada,

SunbeamCorporation(Canada)LimiteddoingbusinessasJardenConsumerSolutions

(collectively“JCS”)warrantsthatforaperiodofoneyearfromthedateofpurchase,this

product will be free from defects in material and workmanship. JCS, at its option, will repair or

replace this product or any component of the product found to be defective during the warranty

period. Replacement will be made with a new or remanufactured product or component. If the

product is no longer available, replacement may be made with a similar product of equal or

greatervalue.Thisisyourexclusivewarranty.DoNOTattempttorepairoradjustanyelectrical

or mechanical functions on this product. Doing so will void this warranty.

This warranty is valid for the original retail purchaser from the date of initial retail purchase

and is not transferable. Keep the original sales receipt. Proof of purchase is required to obtain

warranty performance. JCS dealers, service centers, or retail stores selling JCS products do not

have the right to alter, modify or any way change the terms and conditions of this warranty.

This warranty does not cover normal wear of parts or damage resulting from any of the

following: negligent use or misuse of the product, use on improper voltage or current, use

contrary to the operating instructions, disassembly, repair or alteration by anyone other than

JCSoranauthorizedJCSservicecenter.Further,thewarrantydoesnotcover:ActsofGod,

such as fire, flood, hurricanes and tornadoes.

What are the limits on JCS’s Liability?

JCS shall not be liable for any incidental or consequential damages caused by the

merchantability or fitness for a particular purpose is limited in duration to the duration

Usando su Tostador

Coloque la comida en las cavidades para pan y tueste:

•Lamayoríadepanesypastelessepuedentostar,talescomobagels,

queques,panesentajadasanchas,panecillosingleses,etc.Lastajadas

para pan.

Limpiando su tostador

Desenchufeelcordóneléctricodeltostadordeltomacorrienteeléctricoy

presioneelbotóndecancelardespuésdeusaryantesdelimpiar,yesperea

que el tostador se enfríe. No sumerja.

•Limpieelexteriorconunatelahúmedayséqueloconotratelaopapel

toalla.Nouselimpiadoresabrasivosyaquedañaránelacabadodela

tostadora.

•Golpeelosladosdeltostadorligeramenteparasoltarcualquiermigaque

haya quedado atrapada en la cámara de tostado. Retire la bandeja para

migasyvacíela.Limpielabandejaconunatelahúmedaocolóquelaen
