#1 does this only use AA batteries or does it have a chargable (wall charge battery too?

Only AA sized batteries fit in the camera. You can use rechargeables if you want, but I find they don't last all that long. I view this as a benefit since the AA batteries are available nearly everywhere. With other cameras I was always waiting for the battery to recharge, since nothing else fit.

#2 How do preview the pictures on the camera?

After taking a photo you press a button on the back of the camera and the screen will come up with the most recent photo, it then allows you to scroll through all the photos that you have taken and erase any you do not want.

#3 Can you use a microphone with this? I see a plug but everytime i plug in the mic, the screen goes blank

The only outlet that I think this is for is either to download the pictures to the computer or possibly to charge the camera batteries but not for a speaker.
