Geevon Weather Station Troubleshooting Guide

1. About the backlight.

1) When powered by batteries, to save power, the backlight only lights on for 10 seconds bypressing the "SNZ/LIGHT" button(the button on the top).

2) When plugged in the power cord, the backlight brightness button is the the "SNZ/LIGHT"button.Press it to adjust brightness. When the backlight is set to the brightest and the secondbrightest, the backlight can remain always bright. When the backlight is set to dark, you can press thetopbutton to light up for 10s, or press the top button again to set it to the brightest tokeepthebacklight stay on.

2. Why can't device keep the backlight always on when only using thebatteries?

Different from the traditional black and white screen weather station, this colorful weather stationuses an LCD screen. If the backlight is always on when the battery is used, it will be verybatteryintensive.

3. How to set the time and date?

Here are the steps:

Press and hold down the "MODE" button for 2 seconds until the display begins to flash.

• Set the following information in the order listed:
•12/24 hour format.
• Hours
• Minutes
• Year
•Date
• Month/Day or Day/Month format
• Month.
• Day
• Day of the week language
• Air pressure unit
• To select individual values, press “UP” button or the “DOWN” button and confirmeachselectionby pressing the "MODE" button.

4. Is the sensor waterproof?

No.

5. How to connect the sensor?

We must set the base station to “searching” mode first , and then insert the batteries intothesensor, otherwise the connection cannot be successful.

1) Make sure the channels of the base unit and the remote sensor are the same. Such as bothin#1.
2) Hold the "CH" button for 3S to search for RF signal manually, then insert the batteries intotheremote sensor#1.

6. Where to place the sensor?

1) Mount the sensor vertically on a North-facing wall or a well-shaded location to avoidsunlightand rain. Direct sunlight will make temperature read high. Recommended: 6 inches beloweavesorplaced under deck rail is preferred.

2) Please make sure that the distance between the remote sensor and the main unit can't exceed200 ft. If there is a wall between them, each wall is equivalent to 50 ft. In addition, toavoidsignal interference, please do not place the sensor or host close to a metal, TV or computer, etc.

7. Why are the data recorded by my weather station inconsistent with the data on theweatherchannel/APP?

Geevon weather station is a home version weather station, its detection range is aroundthehouseand its data will be more accurate. The data detection range on the weather channel/APPisthearea. Besides, airport weather stations are only updated once per hour. Therefore, it is normal that their temperature and humidity are slightly different.

8. Why is the air pressure recorded by my weather station different fromthat ontheweather channel/APP?

The weather station only displays the absolute value (absolute air pressure, measuredvalue), excluding the relative value (relative air pressure, corrected to sea level). Theweatherchannel/APP displays relative values (relative air pressure, corrected to sea level).

To compare pressure conditions from one location to another, meteorologists correct pressuretosea-level conditions. Because the air pressure decreases as you rise in altitude, the sea-level corrected pressure( the pressure your location would be as if located at sea-level) is generallyhigher than your measured pressure.

Thus, your absolute pressure may read 28.62 inHg (969mb) at an altitude of 1000feet (305m), butthe relative pressure is 30.33 inHg (1016 mb).

The standard sea-level pressure is 29.92 inHg (1013mb). This is the average sea-level pressurearound the word. Relative pressure measurements greater then 29.92 inHg (1013 mb) areconsidered high pressure and relative pressure measurements less than 29.92 inHg are considered low pressure.

PS: The device predicts the weather based on the trend of absolute air pressure.

9. Why does the REMOTE SENSOR reading keep changing / how to exit the CYCLE mode?

1) The " " button is the channel button. Press the "DOWN" button to switch between CH1--CH 2--CH 3-CYCLE Mode--CH 1--CH 2...

2) CYCLE mode: there is a cycle symbol “ ”displayed next to Channel window, at this time, thescreen will cyclically display the readings of CH1, CH2, and CH3 every 5 seconds.

10. Why can't the data be exactly the same after I put the main unit and remote sensor/otherbrands of thermometers together?

1) The size and structure of the devices are different. In order to get more accurate readings, themain unit has more small holes for ventilation, while the remote sensor is usually placedinarelatively harsh environment, its holes will be smaller. At this time, the chip environment will beslightly different. This is possible One of the reasons for the difference. Therefore, the devicesneedlearning and calibration time. Generally, the longer it is placed, the more accurate the temperaturewill be.

2) If the distance between the cold source or the heat source is different, this is also oneof thereasons for the difference.

3) Due to the reason of 1), between different devices, there may be ±1°C/1.8°F deviationwhentemperature is 32°F~104°F / 0°C~40°C, while 3.6° F / ±2°C deviation in other ranges. Theremaybe±2% deviation when humidity is 20%~80%, while ± 4% deviation in other ranges.

11. How long does the device take to learn and calibrate?

1) When using the device for the first time, it usually takes 3-7 days tocalibrate.

2) If the device is moved from one environment to another (such as bringing the sensor fromoutside to inside in winter), a calibration time of several hours may be required. 12. Why is the wrong day of the week displayed?

Please make sure that the year, month, and day are all set correctly.
