3. Use Guide
3.1 Initial Setup
- Remove the scale from the packaging.
- Open the battery compartment on the underside of the scale.
- Insert the two included AAA batteries, observing the correct polarity (+/-).
- Close the battery compartment.
- Place the scale on a hard, flat, level surface. Do not place it on carpet or uneven surfaces.
Measurement Tip: For accurate readings, always use the scale on a hard, flat surface. Avoid soft surfaces like carpets.
3.2 Taking a Measurement
- Ensure the scale is on a suitable hard, flat surface.
- Tap the scale lightly with your foot to activate it. The display will show "0.0" or "CAL" briefly.
- Wait for the display to show "0.0".
- Step onto the scale platform and stand still, with your feet evenly distributed.
- Your weight will appear on the LED display and lock in after a few seconds.
- Step off the scale. It will turn off automatically after a short period.
3.3 Changing the Measurement Unit
The scale can display weight in four different units: pounds (lb), kilograms (kg), stone (st), and stone:pounds (st:lb).
- Ensure the scale is off (no display).
- Press the unit button (located on the scale's platform or underside, typically near the display).
- Each press will cycle to the next unit: lb → kg → st → st:lb.
- The selected unit will be shown on the display during your next weighing.
3.4 Understanding the Display
- Numerical Readout: Shows your weight in the selected unit.
- Low Battery Indicator: A battery icon or "Lo" will appear when the batteries need replacement.
- Overload Indicator: "Err" or "OL" will appear if the weight exceeds 400 lbs / 180 kg.
- "CAL" Display: Appears briefly during the auto-calibration process when the scale is activated.
3.5 Using the Tape Measure
The included body tape measure allows you to track body measurements alongside weight.
- Pull the tape from the case.
- Wrap it around the body part you wish to measure (e.g., waist, chest).
- Ensure the tape is snug but not tight, and parallel to the floor for horizontal measurements.
- Read the measurement at the point where the tape meets the zero end.
4. Care & Maintenance
- Cleaning: Wipe the glass platform with a soft, damp cloth. Do not use abrasive cleaners or chemicals. Dry thoroughly.
- Storage: Store in a dry place. Avoid extreme temperatures and humidity.
- Battery Replacement: Replace both AAA batteries when the low battery indicator appears. Use high-quality batteries for best performance.
- Handling: Avoid dropping the scale or placing heavy objects on it when not in use. The tempered glass is durable but can break under severe impact.
5. Troubleshooting
- Scale does not turn on: Check battery orientation and replace batteries if necessary. Ensure the scale is on a hard, flat surface.
- Inconsistent or inaccurate readings: Ensure the scale is on a hard, flat, level surface. Re-calibrate by tapping the scale to wake it, waiting for "CAL" and then "0.0", then stepping on.
- "Err" or "OL" appears: The weight exceeds the 400 lb / 180 kg capacity.
- Display is dim or unreadable: Replace the batteries.
- Scale does not auto-off: This may occur if the scale is moved during use. Step off and wait a minute for it to power down.
