3. Use Guide

3.1 Initial Setup

  1. Remove the scale from the packaging.
  2. Open the battery compartment on the underside of the scale.
  3. Insert the two included AAA batteries, observing the correct polarity (+/-).
  4. Close the battery compartment.
  5. Place the scale on a hard, flat, level surface. Do not place it on carpet or uneven surfaces.
Measurement Tip: For accurate readings, always use the scale on a hard, flat surface. Avoid soft surfaces like carpets.

3.2 Taking a Measurement

  1. Ensure the scale is on a suitable hard, flat surface.
  2. Tap the scale lightly with your foot to activate it. The display will show "0.0" or "CAL" briefly.
  3. Wait for the display to show "0.0".
  4. Step onto the scale platform and stand still, with your feet evenly distributed.
  5. Your weight will appear on the LED display and lock in after a few seconds.
  6. Step off the scale. It will turn off automatically after a short period.

3.3 Changing the Measurement Unit

The scale can display weight in four different units: pounds (lb), kilograms (kg), stone (st), and stone:pounds (st:lb).

  1. Ensure the scale is off (no display).
  2. Press the unit button (located on the scale's platform or underside, typically near the display).
  3. Each press will cycle to the next unit: lb → kg → st → st:lb.
  4. The selected unit will be shown on the display during your next weighing.

3.4 Understanding the Display

  • Numerical Readout: Shows your weight in the selected unit.
  • Low Battery Indicator: A battery icon or "Lo" will appear when the batteries need replacement.
  • Overload Indicator: "Err" or "OL" will appear if the weight exceeds 400 lbs / 180 kg.
  • "CAL" Display: Appears briefly during the auto-calibration process when the scale is activated.

3.5 Using the Tape Measure

The included body tape measure allows you to track body measurements alongside weight.

  1. Pull the tape from the case.
  2. Wrap it around the body part you wish to measure (e.g., waist, chest).
  3. Ensure the tape is snug but not tight, and parallel to the floor for horizontal measurements.
  4. Read the measurement at the point where the tape meets the zero end.

4. Care & Maintenance

  • Cleaning: Wipe the glass platform with a soft, damp cloth. Do not use abrasive cleaners or chemicals. Dry thoroughly.
  • Storage: Store in a dry place. Avoid extreme temperatures and humidity.
  • Battery Replacement: Replace both AAA batteries when the low battery indicator appears. Use high-quality batteries for best performance.
  • Handling: Avoid dropping the scale or placing heavy objects on it when not in use. The tempered glass is durable but can break under severe impact.

5. Troubleshooting

  • Scale does not turn on: Check battery orientation and replace batteries if necessary. Ensure the scale is on a hard, flat surface.
  • Inconsistent or inaccurate readings: Ensure the scale is on a hard, flat, level surface. Re-calibrate by tapping the scale to wake it, waiting for "CAL" and then "0.0", then stepping on.
  • "Err" or "OL" appears: The weight exceeds the 400 lb / 180 kg capacity.
  • Display is dim or unreadable: Replace the batteries.
  • Scale does not auto-off: This may occur if the scale is moved during use. Step off and wait a minute for it to power down.
