Use Guide
Initial Setup and Charging
- Ensure the included 3.7V AAA Li-ion battery is installed in the device.
- Connect the provided USB cable to the device's charging port and a standard USB power source (e.g., computer, wall adapter) to charge the battery fully before first use.
Preparing for a Test
Important: For accurate readings, wait at least 15 minutes after your last drink before testing. Do not smoke during this waiting period.
- Attach a new, clean mouthpiece to the breath inlet on the device.
- Press the power button to turn on the device. The LCD display will illuminate.
Performing a Breath Test
- When the device is ready (typically indicated on the display), take a deep breath.
- Place your lips tightly around the mouthpiece.
- Blow steadily and continuously into the mouthpiece for at least 5 seconds.
- Remove the mouthpiece and wait for the result to be calculated and displayed on the screen.
Understanding the Display and Results
- The LCD will show your estimated Blood Alcohol Concentration (BAC).
- The default unit is ‰ BAC. You can change the display unit to %BAC or mg/L if needed (refer to device controls).
- A result at or above 0.5‰ BAC (0.05% BAC) typically indicates a level that may impair driving ability.
- The device will automatically store this result in its memory.
Memory Function
The device automatically stores the last 10 test results. Use the device's controls to cycle through and review past readings on the LCD display.
Power and Auto-Off
The device will automatically power down after 15 seconds of inactivity to conserve battery. Press the power button to turn it back on.
Care and Maintenance
- Use only the provided mouthpieces. Discard after a single use.
- Do not allow liquids to enter the main body of the device.
- Clean the exterior with a soft, dry cloth. Do not use chemicals or submerge the device.
- Store the device in a cool, dry place.
- Recharge the battery using the provided USB cable when the battery indicator is low.
Troubleshooting
- No Power/Display: Ensure the battery is charged. Connect the USB cable to a power source.
- Inconsistent or Unexpected Readings: Ensure you have waited 15 minutes after drinking and are following the correct blowing technique. Use a new mouthpiece.
- Device Does Not Respond to Blowing: Check that the mouthpiece is properly attached. Ensure you are blowing hard and continuously for the full duration.
