TCL 55R617 Questions and Answers

#1 What is ccz technology?

Our Contrast Control Zones (CCZ) is part of the powerful performance package available on our new six series TV. It is a combination of a full array back light and up to 120 zones of individually controlled dimming zones of the LEDs in the backlight. Simply put, and LED TV with Full array and contrast control zones is the only way in LED TV can have the blackest blacks and whitest whites on screen at the same time, delivering an amazing contrast, bright vibrant white, and deep rich blacks.

#2 Can the 120hz cmi motion interpolation "soap opera effect" be turned off for real 120hz? or will it only be 60hz if turned off?

The 120 Hz clear motion index listed uses a combination of the TVs need of 60 Hz panel and back like scanning to deliver clear fast action. That technology does not produce the “soap opera effect”.

#3 Does this tv have to have internet in order for use? reason im asking is because i been using only old fat cubed tv called crt

If you want to take advantage to gaining access to the thousands of streaming channels and over 500,000 movies and TV episode, you would need to have access to the Internet. If you did not want that, and simply wanted to connect your cable box, a Blu-ray player, game console, etc., you can skip the step where you would connect to the Internet and just use it as a regular “dumb TV“

#4 Does this TV support screen mirroring with Apple’s devices ?

Sorry no, Apple limits their proprietary screen mirroring functions to other Apple devices. TCL Roku TVs are compatible with screen mirroring android and Windows device.

#5 I just bought the 6 series last week and one thing I dont understand why only Dolby vision is darker the other formats are working fine.

There are many shows mastered in Dolby Vision that want to take advantage of the extended dark color range, and are mastered to look that was to highlight shadow detail. To confirm the performance of your TV, we recommend that you open up the “Dolby access channel”pre selected on your home screen. There you will see a wide variety of content to demonstrate the potential of the TV. Beyond that, if you’re watching darker contact, we have a new feature called HDR pro gamma under the picture settings that allows you to select between dark, normal and bright Dolby Vision settings to match your environment.
