- Insert the new filter into the housing until it clicks into place.
- Prime the new filter by dispensing and discarding the first three containers of water.
- Reset your filter change indicator sticker to the new replacement date.
Cleaning and Maintenance
Regular Cleaning
- Wipe the exterior of the dispenser with a soft, damp cloth. Do not use abrasive cleaners.
- Regularly clean the lid and spigot area to prevent buildup.
Deep Cleaning the Reservoir
- Remove the filter and set it aside.
- Wash the reservoir with mild dish soap and warm water. Use a soft bottle brush if needed.
- Rinse thoroughly to remove all soap residue.
- Reinstall the filter and prime with water as described in the Initial Setup.
Troubleshooting
- Water is not dispensing / Slow flow: Check that the filter is properly installed and not expired. A clogged, old filter is the most common cause.
- Water tastes unusual: Ensure you have primed a new filter correctly. Confirm the filter has not exceeded its recommended lifespan.
- Lid is difficult to close: Ensure the filter is fully seated and not obstructing the lid.
- Leaking from spigot: Ensure the spigot lever is fully returning to the closed position. Check for debris obstructing the seal.
Safety and Compliance
- Use only with cold tap water. Do not use with hot water.
- Use only genuine Brita Standard (OB03) or Elite (OB06) filters. The use of non-Brita filters is not recommended.
- Do not place near heat sources or in direct sunlight.
- Keep out of reach of small children.
- For compliance information, refer to the Certificate of Compliance available from the manufacturer.
