Use Guide

1. Power Supply

  1. Open the battery compartment on the back of the meter.
  2. Connect a 9 V battery to the snap connector and place it inside the compartment.
  3. Close the compartment securely.

2. Turning On / Off

  • Press the Power button to turn the meter on. The LCD will light up.
  • Press and hold the Power button again to turn the meter off.
  • The meter will automatically power off after 15 minutes of inactivity to save battery.

3. Taking a Measurement

  1. Point the microphone (top of the meter) toward the sound source.
  2. Hold the meter at arm’s length to avoid body reflections affecting the reading.
  3. Read the sound level in dBA on the LCD display.
  4. For outdoor use, attach the supplied wind-resistant ball over the microphone to reduce wind noise.

4. Data Hold

  • Press the Hold button to freeze the current reading on the display.
  • Press Hold again to release the hold and resume live measurement.

5. MAX / MIN Recording

  • Press the MAX/MIN button to cycle through the maximum (MAX) and minimum (MIN) sound levels recorded since the meter was turned on.
  • The display will show “MAX” or “MIN” accordingly.
  • Press and hold the MAX/MIN button to clear the stored values and restart recording.

6. Backlight

  • Press the Backlight button to turn the LCD backlight on or off. The backlight improves readability in dim environments.

7. Alarm Function

  • When the measured sound level reaches 130 dB, the meter will trigger an audible alarm to warn of potentially hazardous noise.

8. Measurement Tips

  • Take several readings at the same location to obtain a stable average value.
  • Avoid blocking the microphone opening with your hand or other objects.
  • When measuring a specific source, try to minimize background noise from other directions.
Note: If the meter will not be used for an extended period, remove the 9 V battery to prevent leakage. Do not use the meter in high‑temperature or high‑humidity environments.
