4.1 Control Panel and Indicators

The front of the machine contains the control interface:

  • Mode Buttons: Select between the different sealing functions.
  • LED Indicator: Provides visual feedback on the machine's status and operation.
  • Sealing Bar: The heated strip that melts the bag plastic to create an airtight seal.

4.2 Key Features

  • Built-in Bag Cutter: A cutting tool integrated into the unit allows you to cut vacuum roll bags to your desired length.
  • Water Drip Tray: A removable tray located near the sealing area to collect excess moisture or liquid from food, preventing it from entering the machine's internal components.
  • Overheat Protection System: The machine includes a safety feature that will automatically shut down the unit if it detects excessive internal temperatures to prevent damage.
  • Cooling System: A fan helps cool the sealing bar area during continuous use, allowing for multiple seals in succession.

5. Use Guide

5.1 Before First Use

  1. Remove all packaging materials.
  2. Wipe the exterior with a damp cloth and dry thoroughly. Ensure the water drip tray is clean and properly seated.
  3. Place the machine on a stable, clean, dry, and level surface.
  4. Plug the power cord (EU Plug) into a suitable electrical outlet.

5.2 Preparing Bags

  1. Use vacuum sealer bags compatible with external vacuum sealers. The machine works with standard bags and stronger INKBIRD pro bags.
  2. To create a custom-sized bag from a roll, use the built-in cutter.
    • Pull the bag material across the cutter.
    • Press down firmly to cut.
  3. Seal one end of the bag using the "Seal Only" function if you are using bag rolls.

5.3 Sealing Modes

The INK-VS05 offers four primary modes of operation:

Vac & Seal (Standard Mode)

This is the standard process for most dry and solid foods.

  1. Place food inside the bag, leaving at least 5-8 cm (2-3 inches) of space at the open end.
  2. Open the lid and place the bag's open end across the sealing bar, ensuring it is flat and inside the vacuum channel.
  3. Close the lid firmly until it latches. The bag should be positioned between the sealing bar and the silicone gasket.
  4. Press the "Vac & Seal" button. The machine will:
    • Remove air from the bag.
    • Heat the sealing bar to melt the bag layers together.
    • Cool the seal.
  5. The LED will indicate when the process is complete. Open the lid and remove the sealed bag.

Seal Only Mode

Use this to seal a bag without vacuuming. Ideal for sealing pre-vacuumed bags or creating bags from rolls.

  1. Place the bag's open end across the sealing bar and close the lid.
  2. Press the "Seal Only" button. The machine will heat the bar to create a seal.

Pulse Mode (Manual Vacuum)

Allows you to manually control the vacuum strength. Useful for delicate items (like chips or bread) that can be crushed by full vacuum pressure, or for removing air from bags containing liquid.

  1. Place the bag and close the lid.
  2. Press and hold the "Pulse" button. The machine will actively remove air.
  3. Release the button when the desired level of vacuum is achieved. The machine will then automatically proceed to seal the bag.

Canister Mode (External Vacuum)

Used with special vacuum canisters or containers that have a valve.

  1. Attach the hose (if included with your accessory) to the machine's external vacuum port.
  2. Attach the other end of the hose to the valve on the vacuum canister.
  3. Press the "Canister" button to activate the vacuum pump and remove air from the container.

5.4 Tips for Different Food Types

  • Dry Foods (Nuts, Grains, Coffee): Use standard Vac & Seal mode.
  • Wet Foods (Meat, Fish, Vegetables): Pat items dry with a paper towel before sealing. Position the bag so the open end is higher than the food to help direct liquids away from the seal area. The water drip tray will catch minor moisture.
  • Liquids (Soups, Sauces) or Powdery Foods: Freeze the item first until solid, then use Vac & Seal mode. Alternatively, use Pulse Mode carefully, stopping before liquid is drawn into the machine.
  • Delicate Foods: Use Pulse Mode to prevent crushing.

Important: Avoid allowing liquids, powders, or food particles to be sucked into the machine's vacuum channel, as this can damage the pump and affect performance.

6. Cleaning and Maintenance

  1. Unplug the machine from the electrical outlet before cleaning.
  2. Exterior: Wipe with a soft, damp cloth. Do not use abrasive cleaners or submerge the unit in water.
  3. Sealing Bar & Area: After the bar has cooled completely, wipe with a dry cloth to remove any plastic residue. Do not scratch the surface.
  4. Water Drip Tray: Remove the tray, wash with warm soapy water, rinse, and dry thoroughly before reinserting.
  5. Silicone Gasket: The rubber seal around the sealing area can be wiped clean. Ensure it is free of debris to maintain an airtight seal.
  6. Storage: Store the machine in a cool, dry place. Ensure it is completely dry before storing.

7. Troubleshooting

Problem Possible Cause Solution
Machine does not turn on. Power cord not plugged in. Faulty outlet. Check power connection. Try a different outlet.
Vacuum process does not start or is weak. Lid not closed properly. Bag blocking the vacuum channel. Clogged vacuum channel. Ensure lid is firmly latched. Reposition bag so channel is clear. Check and clean the vacuum channel entrance (when unplugged).
Bag does not seal. Sealing bar dirty or damaged. Bag not properly positioned. Bag material incompatible. Clean the sealing bar (cool). Ensure bag end is flat across the entire sealing bar. Use recommended bag types.
Seal is weak or breaks open. Insufficient sealing time (overheating protection activated). Moisture on sealing area. Allow the machine to cool down if it has been used continuously. Dry the bag's sealing area thoroughly.
Machine stops during use (Overheat Protection). Continuous use has caused internal components to overheat. Unplug the machine and allow it to cool down completely for 30-60 minutes before resuming use.
Water/liquid enters the machine. Sealing very wet food without precaution. Always pat food dry. Freeze liquids. Use the water drip tray. If liquid enters, unplug immediately and let the unit dry thoroughly for several days before testing. Severe ingress may require service.
